Pentacle Memorandum (1953)

1953

A two-page Battelle memo dated Jan 9, 1953 (Project Stork) sent to Miles E. Goll at Wright-Patterson AFB, attn Capt. Edward Ruppelt. It proposed a controlled experiment in which aerial activity would be secretly and purposefully scheduled over high-incidence areas under radar/photo observation. Jacques Vallee found it in 1967 among J. Allen Hynek's papers and codenamed its anonymous author Pentacle in his 1992 book Forbidden Science.
