The Monroe Institute

1974

Consciousness-exploration center in Faber, Virginia founded by Robert Monroe, developer of the Hemi-Sync binaural-beat method and the Gateway Experience out-of-body program. Its methods were the subject of the U.S. Army's 1983 CIA-analyzed Gateway Process report, and it later hired the Army remote-viewing unit's Skip Atwater as Research Director.
