◀ Red Thread Files ◎ About PRIVACY

Short version: The Red Thread Files does not track you, run ads, set advertising cookies, or sell anyone's data. It's a static reference site — you can read the whole thing without giving up anything about yourself. The details below spell out the few places any data is touched at all.

Analytics

To understand roughly how many people visit and which pages are useful, the site may use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics). It counts page views in aggregate. It does not use cookies, does not fingerprint your device, does not build a profile of you, and does not follow you across other sites — which is why there's no cookie-consent banner to click through. No personally identifying information is collected.

When you send a correction

If you email a correction or tip to sddgfeedback@gmail.com — or use a feedback form on the site — we receive what you send: your message and your email address. That's used only to review the correction and, if needed, reply. It isn't added to a mailing list or shared with anyone.

Supporting the project

There is currently no paid tier or donation link. If a way to support the project is ever added, it would send you to a third-party payment service that handles the transaction under its own privacy policy and terms; we would never see or store your card details, and it would have no effect on what you can read or do here — everything stays free and open.

Cookies

The site does not set advertising or tracking cookies. Your browser may keep small amounts of local data purely to remember your own preferences (for example, that you've already seen a one-time helper tip). That information stays in your browser and is never sent to us.

Third parties

Fonts and a few assets load from the page itself; the site is hosted on Cloudflare. External links — to primary sources, documents, and reporting — take you to sites we don't control, each with its own policies. We link out for evidence, not for tracking.

Changes & contact

If how the site handles data ever changes, it will be updated here and noted in the corrections & updates log. Questions about privacy can go to the same address as everything else: sddgfeedback@gmail.com.

The Red Thread Files is an independent research aid. It carries no advertising that would compromise its neutrality. See also the About page and Sources & Methods.
