Sir William Stephenson

1964–1989

WWII British spymaster (codename "Intrepid," a real-life inspiration for James Bond) who ran British Security Coordination in New York. After the war he settled in Bermuda; in 1964, by then an old wartime acquaintance of Thomas Townsend Brown, he took an interest in Brown's antigravity research and reportedly helped support it. Other claims linking the two men to a WWII-era intelligence mission are unconfirmed by any declassified record and are treated by researchers as likely embellishment.
