John Frost

1952–1960

British-born aeronautical engineer at Avro Canada who led the classified "Project Y" saucer-shaped VTOL aircraft program, later declassified as the VZ-9 Avrocar. Said his ideas partly stemmed from a 1953 meeting with a German engineer who claimed to have designed a flying-saucer aircraft for the Luftwaffe.
