Jimmy Doolittle

1954

WWII aviator and general; as Acting Chairman of the USAF Scientific Advisory Board, signed a December 1954 report to Lt. Gen. Donald Putt on Avro Canada's classified "Project Y" saucer aircraft, concluding it warranted no more than limited support. The same file included intelligence recommendations to locate a "Herr Miethe," a rumored German engineer tied to alleged Nazi-era flying-saucer research, possibly living under an alias.
