Bill Nelson

2021–2025

14th NASA Administrator (2021-2025); former U.S. Senator and Congressman from Florida. In June 2021 directed NASA scientists to look more closely at UAP reports, and later said publicly he did not think humanity was "alone" in the universe. In September 2023 presided over the release of NASA's UAP Independent Study Team final report and announced the agency's first (unnamed) director of UAP research, while publicly dismissing David Grusch's crash-retrieval claims by asking "Where's the evidence?" Left NASA on Jan. 20, 2025 at the end of the Biden administration; no confirmed new position since.
